In the spring of 2014 Dominic McCosker became the newest Aussie to join LA FRENZ Winery, bringing with him a passion for making premium wines in the Okanagan Valley.
After completing his Bachelor of Science at Curtin University in Perth, Australia, Dominic set off travelling the globe, including visiting many of the world’s renowned wine regions. This fuelled his thirst for great terroir driven wines, and upon visiting the Okanagan Valley and seeing the potential for such wines, he set about acquiring the experience to be a part of this process.
Whilst working at various wineries starting in the vineyard and progressing to becoming the Winemaker, he gained hands-on experience in every aspect of winemaking. He has now completed more than a dozen vintages, at Canadian and Australian premium wineries.
What drew Dominic to LA FRENZ was both the opportunity to continue to refine the already highly acclaimed wines of LA FRENZ Winery and Jeff’s commitment to sustainable farming with an emphasis on the vineyards. The belief that great wines are made from great fruit and as such the vineyards balance is always at the forefront of decision making. His belief that the wine should reflect the terroir rather than the hand of the winemaker shapes his actions in the cellar. He enjoys crafting premium wines which express the fruit from our four estate vineyards and reinforcing LA FRENZ’s reputation for creating benchmark terroir wines.
