2014 Ensemble
La Frenz

The 2014 Ensemblé is a racy, well-integrated blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon that possesses a lovely chalky minerality outline with refreshing acidity. It is inspired by the beautiful dry, white wines found in Graves, a well-known sub-region of Bordeaux.

A superbly rich layering of complex winemaking techniques, this wine brims with the mouth-watering exotic aromatics of passionfruit, plumeria flower and dragon fruit. A vein of mint and ripe satsuma oranges carry through to the lingering, creamy finish.

Quite easily enjoyed upon release, our Ensemblé may be cellared for up to 5 years to experience further development.

2014 Reserve Chardonnay
La Frenz

The 2014 Reserve Chardonnay is a wine that delivers luxurious finesse wrapped around a lovely linear core of acidity.

To craft this wine, the best blocks of fruit were hand harvested and each clone was kept separate before being gently pressed with a percentage of the juice having a short amount of skin contact. The free run juice was racked to 100% French oak barrels for fermentation and the lees were stirred bi-weekly to achieve more creaminess and texture as well as greater complexity. Subtle hints of baking spices, roasted nuts weave through the layers of intense flavours of honeyed stone fruits, guava and ripe melon. The finish is lengthy and brings to mind the richer notes of brioche and beeswax.

This is an exceptional Chardonnay that will age beautifully for the next five to ten years from release.

2014 Vivant
La Frenz

Crafted from super ripe fruit grown on the Naramata Bench, the gorgeous deep lemon yellow colour hints at the richness of this multi-faceted, aromatic blend.

The 2014 Vivant is a seamless integration of Viognier (52%), Chardonnay Musque (38%) and Roussanne (10%). Notes of ripe peaches, papayas and spice musk will easily persuade you to take a sip. The full-bodied, textured palate exhibits complex notes highlighting citrus zest, potpourri and Turkish delight. This wine showcases lush refinement with a pleasingly persistent finish.

Delightful upon release, the 2014 Vivant may be cellared up to five years from release.

2014 Reserve Pinot Noir
La Frenz

With a deeper concentration of flavours than the previous vintage, combined with a richly layered mouthfeel and a lingering finish, the 2014 Reserve Pinot Noir is a knockout!

To produce our premium tier Pinot Noir, the best sections of Pinot Noir blocks at our Desperation Hill Vineyard were hand-harvested before a portion was 100% destemmed with whole berries sorted through the Pellenc while the remaining batches were left as whole bunches. Throughout the winemaking process, the clones are kept separate and the final blend is comprised of clones 828 (37%), 667 (32%), 115 (21%) and 91 (10%).

This is a sophisticated wine with intricate notes that bring to mind B.C.’s Coastal Rainforests – moss on trees, blackberry bramble and pine mushrooms. The plush mouthfeel continues to please with fruit-forward characteristics of black forest cake and dried Stella cherries and a subtle underlay of soy-like umami, cigar box and Chinese five spices.

This Pinot will continue to develop beautifully 5 years plus from release. With patience and proper cellaring, you will well rewarded!

2013 Grand Total Reserve
La Frenz

Commanding and complex, the Grand Total Reserve is a cellar-worthy wine that is the pinnacle of our Bordeaux program. Like previous vintages, it continues to offer a well-balanced wine in a robust yet refined style that “big red” connoisseurs have come to covet from us year after year.

This wine is concentrated and inky with aromatics of dried dark berries and leather on the nose. These notes follow through on the velvety palate with further layers of chocolate covered cassis, nuts, vanilla rooibos and espresso beans. For the 2013 Grand Total Reserve, all the varietals were cropped at one bunch per shoot, achieving under three tons per acre. This result is incredible flavour intensity across all three Bordeaux varietals used – Merlot (58%), Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) and Cabernet Franc (17%). The single varietal aging both in barrel (50% new French) and in bottle followed by the careful multi-varietal blending achieves an overall heightened elegance and complexity. The dense concentrated flavours combined with the fine-grained tannins and never-ending finish will satiate even the most discerning palate.

The depth in structure will allow the wine to age comfortably for up to 10 years from the release, under ideal cellaring conditions.
