With a deeper concentration of flavours than the previous vintage, combined with a richly layered mouthfeel and a lingering finish, the 2014 Reserve Pinot Noir is a knockout!
To produce our premium tier Pinot Noir, the best sections of Pinot Noir blocks at our Desperation Hill Vineyard were hand-harvested before a portion was 100% destemmed with whole berries sorted through the Pellenc while the remaining batches were left as whole bunches. Throughout the winemaking process, the clones are kept separate and the final blend is comprised of clones 828 (37%), 667 (32%), 115 (21%) and 91 (10%).
This is a sophisticated wine with intricate notes that bring to mind B.C.’s Coastal Rainforests – moss on trees, blackberry bramble and pine mushrooms. The plush mouthfeel continues to please with fruit-forward characteristics of black forest cake and dried Stella cherries and a subtle underlay of soy-like umami, cigar box and Chinese five spices.
This Pinot will continue to develop beautifully 5 years plus from release. With patience and proper cellaring, you will well rewarded!
