This wine truly expresses the delicate beauty that is Pinot Noir. More concentrated in both colour and flavours than the 2014 vintage, our 2015 Pinot Noir offers an incredibly opulent palate with a persistent finish.
Enticing notes of wild foraged dark berries along the lines of ripe strawberries, Saskatoon berries and mulberries mingle beautifully with warming notes of wet earth, licorice, cedar and vanilla bean. To craft this superb, multi-dimensional wine, the fruit was separated by the five different clones and three different soil types for fermentation. As with all our wines that have oak influence, only premium French oak barrels are used. 15% of this Pinot Noir was barrel aged in new oak with an overall total of 13 months in barrel.
This Pinot Noir was crafted with immediate enjoyment in mind though it will continue to develop up to 3-4 years from vintage date. Ideal cellaring will further emphasize the silkier mouthfeel and the lovely earthier notes.
Our 2015 Desperation Hill Pinot Noir has been awarded Silver at Dan Berger International Competition in California 2017 and Honours at Intervin Competition 2017.
