2016 SBL Syrah
We use a classic northern Rhone technique of co-fermenting Viognier with our Syrah, this adds so much perfume to the aroma while making the palate silky smooth and round. The wine was aged 18 months in a single Damy Estrella barrel before further bottle development prior to release.
The best Syrah from cooler climates all show varietal characteristics of great color, blue fruits with hints of white pepper. The aroma and palate of this wine display a dense array of these along with endless flavours of dried sweet blueberries, dark chocolate and freshly roasted coffee beans.
This wine has a sensational mouth-filling density and purity of Syrah fruit that will reward for years to come.
