Viognier is an intriguing Rhône varietal that is reluctant to show its best unless fully ripened. As such, the fruit was left to hang a lengthy amount of time to obtain an enticing richness of a higher ripeness level, resulting alcohol and just a light touch of fruit sweetness.
A perennial favourite amongst our fans, this is a charming Viognier that exhibits a medley of abundant ripe tropical fruits such as papaya & poached pears and white peaches perfectly blended with a subtle note of apricot marmalade, wild sage and nutmeg. Amazing palate weight, viscosity, and alcohol warmth achieved due to its high ripeness level. The layered characteristics make this wine quite versatile to pair with. Try Sage-stuffed turkey breast with a light butter sauce or a mild curry like chicken korma or daal.
We recommend enjoying our Viognier upon release, however you may carefully cellar the wine for 3-5 years from the vintage date. The fruit forward characteristics will give way to the secondary notes of mineral and straw and the wine will develop a more viscous mouthfeel.
