This fortified Port style wine is aged 3 years in older barrels. It is reminiscent of butterscotch and fruit cake. It is sweet but finishes dry with a long lingering aftertaste. Perfect around a warm fire this winter. 18.5%
NV Liqueur Muscat (375 ml)$20 per bottle ($240 per case)
Sold out
Silver (Northwest Wine Summit 2009)
We believe this must be a first for Canada: a fortified Muscat, in the style made internationally famous by the Rutherglen area of Australia. It is brimming with luscious aromas of rose petals and musque. Deliciously sweet and complex, it is perfect with coffee this winter. 18.5%
2008 Vintage Style Port (500 ml)$25 per bottle ($300 per case)
Sold out
Gold (Northwest Wine Summit 2009)
Classic vintage port is aged and developed in the bottle. Unlike other port styles it isn’t barrel aged. It should capture the fruit characteristics of the grape variety, in this case Shiraz which is sweet blueberries with hints of white pepper. High quality brandy is used to fortify the wine to 18.5% alcohol. This adds complexity to the wine but shouldn’t mask the fruit. The wine is sweet but should finish dry on the palate. This wine is very enjoyable upon release as a young wine but if aged in bottle it will develop complex dark fruitcake, plum pudding characteristics with a noticeable licorice aroma. 18.5%
