2009 Vintage PortVintage port is developed in bottle, whereas most other port styles are aged in older barrels. As is traditional with Australian vintage port we used dark, ripe estate grown Shiraz grapes fortified with our own custom distilled brandy spirit. The wine shows all the fruits of the grape variety when young but develops even more complex dark fruit cake and hints of licorice with extended bottle ageing. The palate is sweet but has enough extract and tannin to make the wine finish with the necessary dryness.
