With a deeper concentration of flavours than the previous vintage, combined with a richly layered mouthfeel and a lingering finish, the 2015 Reserve Pinot Noir is a knockout!
To produce our premium tier Pinot Noir, the best sections of Pinot Noir blocks at our Desperation Hill Vineyard were hand-harvested before a portion was 100% destemmed with whole berries sorted through the Pellenc while the remaining batches were left as whole bunches. Throughout the winemaking process, the clones are kept separate and the final blend is comprised of clones 828 (20%), 667 (10%), 115 (35%) and 91 (35%).
This elegant and delicate wine has a deep red colour especially for the variety. Once more our Reserve Pinot Noir recalls B.C.’s Coastal Rainforests – moss on trees and blackberry bramble. Aromas of red and dark fruits overlaid with complexing notes of earthiness, sweet spices, and a hint of barrel toast. The palate weight is dense and round delivering a plush mouthfeel that continues to please with characteristics of black forest cake and dried Stella cherries and a subtle savory flavour.
This Pinot will continue to develop beautifully 5 years plus from release. With patience and proper cellaring, you will be well rewarded!
